RAJA AMPAT



Raja Ampat is one of the districts in the province of West Papua, Indonesia. The capital district is located in Waisai.

District has 610 islands. Four of them, namely Misool Island, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo, the larger islands. Of the whole island,
only 35 inhabited islands. Islands are uninhabited, and most do not have a name.

This is one of the most remote and unexplored regions on earth and provides a very different holiday experience free from any sign of development or tourism. What could be more satisfying than to cruise this stunning natural environment on a classic and comfortable wooden yacht whilst diving the worlds most bio-diverse reefs!

One of the great things about this area is the variety of reefs and their topography. There are vertical walls, reef flats, slopes, ridges, sea mounds, mucky mangroves, lagoons and pinnacles all of which are affected by a varying degree of current from none to very strong. Likewise by a varying degree of wave action, from the north side of the northern islands wayag, Uranie and Bag which are open to the Pacific Ocean swells, to the very calm bays and lagoons of Fam and Waiego Islands.

As an archipelago, the only inter-island transportation and supporting community activites Raja Ampat is a marine transportation.
Similary to reach Waisai, the district capital. When using an airplane, first to the city of Sorong. After that, the trip to Sorong Waisai followed by sea transport. Facilities are available are quick ship capacity 10, 15, or 30 people. With the cost of approximately + - Rp. 2 milion, Waisai be reached within 1.5 to 2 hours.

Raja Ampat Islands is known as the the epicenter of the bio-diversity. It is very famous and called the heart of the world’s coral reef biodiversity. The meaning of Raja Ampat means four kings.
